The sixth reunion of the Flying Circus was held in early September in Missoula, Montana. People literally arrived by trains, planes and automobiles, and it was worth the trip.
While the number who made it was slightly down on the 2006 reunion, those who attended had a great time. The atmosphere was relaxed, as one would expect when getting away from the hustle and bustle of a bigger city environment, and the locals were very friendly and accommodating. With a local brewery distilling a beer called "Moose Drool", you knew the atmosphere would be very laid back.
Steve and Sherry Rossiter did a great job in organising the event. The group had a meeting room in the hotel which was available at all hours, and even breakfast and dinner could be served there for a more relaxed setting for the group. Tours of the Smokejumpers' main base, an aviation museum at the airport and the local brewery were undertaken on the Saturday. The more formal dinner was held on the Saturday evening, and having our own room for the function made it a more private and relaxing affair.
