Facts about the "Buzzard" Patch.
Steve Rossiter recalls that it was either Jeff Johns or Jim Coplan that designed the Buzzard patch around early 1967. It is believed that one of the guys had a contact at Disney, and they did the final product and sent them to us. It seems to have disappeared again by the end of that same year.
The bird is a buzzard, which likes to fly in search of prey. This, and the red scarf which was worn by the scout crews around this same time, represents the scouts. The lightning bolt and the cloud represent the Command and Control aircraft high overhead.
